Free Tesco carrots for Rudolph this Christmas
Tesco is tripling the number of stores offering free carrots for Rudolph this Christmas, making it available in 2,880 stores compared to 2,000 in 2023. The initiative will be in Express stores for the first time, in addition to the majority of large stores. The freebie will be given to shoppers as they enter participating stores until Christmas Eve. Nearly half of the UK population leaves out a carrot for Rudolph on Christmas Eve, and Tesco aims to help provide some Christmas magic by distributing an estimated 175 tonnes of imperfect carrots.
According to a survey, people believe that Father Christmas would prefer doughnuts, a cheeseboard, or a meal deal to a traditional mince pie and a glass of milk. When asked, a majority of millennials think Santa would prefer a meal deal over a mince pie and a glass of milk.
Shoppers are also encouraged to leave out snacks for Father Christmas, and the survey suggests that a meal deal with a festive sandwich, side, and drink would be the most appealing option.
